PHOENIX (AP) -- The Edmonton Oilers are no longer satisfied with tie games on the road.
Edmonton played to a draw for the second straight night Friday, tying the Phoenix Coyotes. Radek Dvorak scored a power-play goal with 7:46 left in regulation to get the Oilers even.
The Oilers, who played a tie at San Jose on Thursday, are 2-6-3 in their last 11 games. With a 42-21 shots advantage over the Coyotes, the Oilers felt they should have come out ahead.
"It's nice to have a point, but we know we should have won last night and tonight," Dvorak said. "What we have to do is keep doing what we are doing right now and hopefully we will start winning some games. It's just a matter of time."
Edmonton coach Craig MacTavish was equally frustrated.
"The team is playing hard," MacTavish said, "playing well and taking care of pretty much all areas of the game with the exception of the win."
Coyotes captain Shane Doan, whose team is 3-1-2 in its last six, also was not happy with the tie.
"They played well," Doan said. "They didn't quit. It was a good game for them. For us, you have the lead at home in the third period, you expect to win."
Smyth scored at 15:52 of the first period to give Edmonton a 1-0 lead. Jason Smith fired a shot from the top of left circle that was stopped by Sean Burke. Smyth was camped in front of Burke, and flipped the rebound into him. Burke again made the save, but Smyth stuffed the next rebound just inside the right post.
The Coyotes recorded just two shots in the first period.
Langkow made it 1-1 with a power-play goal at 2:44 of the second period. He scored from inside the right circle off a feed from Chris Gratton from just right of the net.
Nagy put the Coyotes up 2-1 when he redirected a shot by David Tanabe during a two-man advantage and then put in his own rebound.
Pisani redirected a shot by Scott Ferguson past Burke 6:08 into the third period right after Phoenix killed off back-to-back penalties. Sjostrom scored his first NHL goal at 10:21 of the third period off a pass from Jeff Taffe on a two-on-one break.
