GAME: Calgary Flames (28-14-5) at Edmonton Oilers (25-17-6).

TIME: Monday, 9 p.m. EST.

The Calgary Flames realize this road trip needs to be better than the last.

The Flames went 1-2-1 on the road from Jan. 7-14, but will look to improve on that when they visit the Edmonton Oilers.

The Flames extended their winning streak to three games in controversial fashion with a 4-1 victory Saturday over the Buffalo Sabres.

With the score tied 1-1, Calgary was on a two-man power play when Daymond Langkow's shot hit Regehr's skate in front and caromed in. Sabres goaltender Martin Biron immediately argued Regehr kicked in the puck, making an animated kicking motion with his leg for emphasis while making his case to the officials.

But the goal stood after a video review.

"We're trying to build up our team game and create good habits again. We went through a little bit of a slide ... where we weren't getting great team efforts," Regehr said. "It was a little more individual, so it's an extremely tight division in the Northwest and also in the conference, so we know this stretch going into the Olympic break is very important for us."

Shean Donovan, Kristian Huselius and Darren McCarty also scored in the victory while Tony Amonte and Dion Phaneuf each had two assists. The Flames were 2-for-6 on the power play and notched a short-handed goal while killing off all five Buffalo extra-man advantages.

Goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff made 29 saves for his career-best 25th win. He is 3-1-1 versus the Oilers this season, but has given up 10 goals while going 1-1-0 in his last two outings against them.

Edmonton returns home having lost four of five including a 4-3 shootout defeat Saturday to the Phoenix Coyotes.

Edmonton took a one-goal lead in the third period on goals by Georges Laraque and Jason Smith, but allowed the tying goal with less than four minutes to go.

"At least we were trying in the third, which is more than I can say for the first two periods," said Oilers coach Craig MacTavish, whose team beat San Jose 3-2 in a shootout the game before. "At least we started trying. It was a pretty pathetic effort by our group."

Edmonton also will try to snap a three-game losing streak at home and even the season series with the Flames.

Leading scorer Shawn Horcoff has one goal in three games after tallying six goals and seven assists during a season-best eight-game points streak.

He has two goals and three assists in four games against Calgary this season.
