As if things aren't going bad enough for the hapless Edmonton Oilers, now they'll have to visit General Motors Place for a matchup with the Vancouver Canucks.

Edmonton, which owns the worst power-play and penalty-killing units in the league, has managed just two wins in its last 15 games (2-9-4). Add to that the Oilers' seven-game winless streak against the Canucks (0-6-1) since last March 24, and the prospects of Edmonton ending its slide don't look very good.

The Oilers, who have been outscored 6-0 in two meetings with the Canucks this season, are winless in their last four overall (0-3-1), including Tuesday's 2-1 setback at Calgary.

Mike York's goal with 3:16 to play kept Edmonton from its second straight shutout loss.

"Too little too late again," frustrated Edmonton coach Craig MacTavish said. "We eventually got one and had a lot of opportunities again but playing catch-up in this league on most nights is a zero-sum game."

Making the Oilers' extended skid even more alarming is that they opened the season with a solid 10-7-2 mark.

"Sure, it's disappointing but every team goes through this during a year," Oilers defenseman Steve Staios said. "We have to find a way to shorten the slide quickly and find a way to get some points."

Dan Cloutier made 31 saves for his second shutout of the season as the Canucks increased their lead over second-place Calgary to five points in the Northwest Division with a 2-0 victory over the Flames on Friday.

Mattias Ohlund and Brendan Morrison scored for Vancouver, which has lost just once in its last six overall (4-1-1).

Vancouver is a 11-0-0 when leading after two periods this season.
