Though his father Cam set a Western Hockey League record for points by a defenseman, Alex Plante is a stay-at-home blueliner who can skate the puck out of his zone with his long stride. Standing 6'3" and weighing 225 pounds, Plante plays a sound positional game. He can handle and shoot the puck well, but will need to improve his speed and agility. He is steady and efficient, and though not flashy, he is a solid player.
