Signed 3-year contract with Oilers on May 31, 2004…played 50 games for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Chicoutimi Sagueneens in his last season, posting a 21-20-6 record…his .916 save percentage was third best among QMJHL goaltenders, while his 2.87 goals-against average ranked seventh….was the Oilers second choice (31st overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft…led the Sagueneens on an impressive playoff run in 2003-04, eventually losing out to the QMJHL league champion Gatineau Olympiques in the semi-finals….in 18 post-season games, Deslauriers was 10-8 with a 3.14 goals-against average and .907 save percentage…was rated 1st among North American goaltending prospects on Central Scouting’s final ranking prior to the 2002 NHL Entry Draft…played in 2002 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Saskatoon…named QMJHL Defensive Rookie of the Year and was named to QMJHL All-Rookie Team in 2001-02…was 6th among QMJHL goaltenders in wins (28) and save pct.
