Hometown: Edmonton, Alberta
Occupation/Profession: Safety Administrator
Career Goal: Under Construction.
Favourite type of workout: Dance. Second best would go to hot yoga.
Why do you love the game of Hockey: I enjoy all sports that are fast paced and full of action, but hockey is special. Hockey has a sense of tradition and history that has been a huge part of Canadian culture. The atmosphere you get when watching hockey in Canada is an experience you can’t get if you were watching it anywhere else in the world.
Best Characteristic: My shortness.
What is something unique about you that most people don’t know: I am quite adventurous, I love trying new things that will make my heart race. My most recent adventure was completing my Open Water SCUBA Certification in the Philippines, which I can’t wait to put to use!
Favourite place in Oil Country: I love the dog parks in Edmonton. It’s a place where I can go for a nice peaceful run or walk with my dog while she can socialize and play with other dogs. It’s her favourite spot too.
Dream vacation: A European Cruise.
Favourite food: Steak (True Albertan).
Dream Date: My dream date would be an activity of some sort, something not quite ordinary for a date where we can have fun. The more original or creative, the better. Followed by a nice steak dinner with a glass of white wine. To make it really a dream come true, I would say it would have to take place somewhere exotic.
Favourite winter accessory: Cute coloured mittens. I have some light pink ones I fought for at our Octane Christmas exchange that I love.
Words to live by: The happiest people don’t have the best of everything, they make the best of everything/Don’t stress, it is never worth it and there is always a better solution.
Describe your personal style: Easy going and relaxed, but still girly.
Why do you want to be part of the Octane: I love performing, Octane was an opportunity to perform for a larger audience, and an even better opportunity to increase my skills as a dancer.
Who inspires you: This may be corny, but honestly everyone on my team. We have a very diverse team and every game or practice I always see a trait that I admire and respect. Either it’s Breianna’s dedication, Stacey’s power, Jessica’s bubbly personality; the list goes on for every single Octane member.
What is your performance background: 2 years with my High school cheer team (AOB Crusaders!), 2 Years on a University Dance Team, 1 year with a professional dance team, and now would be my first year with The Octane.
Best Memory as an Octane Member: My favourite memory was the time Sterling visited our practice for our skit for 22 Minutes. It was so much fun and we laughed a lot. Sterling is very talented and has some interesting dance moves. What is even better about it is the fact I can go back and watch the video of the skit over to relive the memory and share it with others.
Favourite quote: “Don’t get mad, get better.”
