OILERS TELEVISION BROADCASTERS

KEVIN QUINN - PLAY BY PLAY
I wanted to get into television, so I volunteered at a local cable station. I shot, edited, wrote, and did sports casts, as well as play-by-play for Scarborough's Wexford Junior B team. Moving along in my career, I went to Barrie and CKVR television to anchor sports, as well as doing the play-by-play for the OHL Game of the Week. I met Scott Moore during one of those OHL games and found myself at Sportsnet as a co-anchor on Sportscentral with Daren Millard. I headed West to handle the Canucks and Flames games when Jim Robson retired. In 2001, I started working on Edmonton Oilers games. It truly is as they say "the heartland of hockey".

LOUIE DEBRUSK - COLOUR ANALYST
I grew up in the town of Port Elgin, Ontario and started playing hockey at the age of 11. Although I started a little later than most, I knew immediately that this was the game for me and had to be pried off the outdoor rink my Dad built for my brother and myself. I played minor hockey in Port Elgin until leaving home at 16 to play one year with the Stratford Cullitons in Junior B, before being drafted by the London Knights of the OHL where I played 3 seasons. After my first year in London, I was drafted by the New York Rangers in 1989. At the beginning of my first year of pro hockey, I was traded to the Edmonton Oilers in the blockbuster deal that sent Mark Messier to the Rangers. I played 6 seasons with the Oilers and had some of my most memorable experiences in "The Heartland of Hockey". I then headed South and played 1 year with the Tampa Bay Lightning and 3 years with the Phoenix Coyotes before playing my final NHL season with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Upon retirement from playing hockey, I was contacted by the Phoenix Coyotes to be an analyst on the radio broadcasts covering their games. Just as with playing hockey, I knew right from the start that I was going to love calling hockey games. After 3 years with the Coyotes broadcast team, I was fortunate to be hired by Rogers Sportsnet as the TV analyst covering the Edmonton Oilers games. I started my NHL career in Edmonton and now have come full circle, and am thrilled to be back in the Heartland! For 26 years I've lived and breathed hockey, so it is a thrill for me to still be involved with the greatest game in the world. I am married and the proud father of two children.

GENE PRINCIPE - HOST
Growing up in Alberta I always wanted to be a sportscaster. As a young boy I idolized the likes of Howard Cosell, who I found to be one of the most engaging individuals in sports. When I came to the earth-shattering conclusion that I would not be making millions of dollars as a professional athlete, I turned my focus to covering sports.

Although working in the sports media is not the only thing I do, it is where I receive a great deal of satisfaction. In the 24 years I have been working in the industry, I can honestly say that there are very few days I can remember not wanting to get up and go to work. It's a great way to earn a living and an even better way to live your life.

The opportunity to work with Sportsnet is one that I am extremely excited about. A special thanks goes out to the Oilers organization who I have worked with for the past three seasons.

Despite the travel often associated with my job, my wife Karen has always been more than supportive, encouraging me to follow my dreams and pursue a career path, which she knew I would enjoy. Through a hectic work schedule, my family is my number one priority. My three children - sons Francesco and Matteo, and daughter Izabella - along with my wife, are the most important parts of my life.
