Gold Season Seat Contest
We’ve saved what is arguably our best Opening Week contest until the end: four sets of two Gold Season Seats for the balance of this year. Entrants had just over 24 hours to answer some seasonal trivia questions. Many got the answers correct and the four randomly selected winners were:
Matt Upham - Edmonton, AB
Pamela Goertzen - Grande Prairie, AB
Bill Lintott - Fort Saskatchewan, AB
Denis Charbboneau - Beaumont, AB
The four correct answers to our trivia questions were:
Who was the last Oilers player to get more than 100 points in a season?
Doug Weight - 104 points (1995-96 season)
What is the Oilers record for plus/minus in a season?
Wayne Gretzky +98 in 1984-85
Who holds the Oilers NHL Rookie Record for goals in a season?
Jason Arnott - 33 goals (1993-94)
How many Oilers have scored 50 or more goals in a season (as an Oiler)?
Four players: Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Jari Kurri and Glenn Anderson. Craig Simpson had 56 in 1987-88 but only 43 as an Oiler (All four winners selected 'four' as their answer but we would have accepted 'five' or 'four plus Craig Simpson' if a drawn winner had those answers).
