SEASON 3 EPISODE 5 SYNOPSIS
The final episode of Oil Change, Aquila Productions’ popular and critically-acclaimed documentary series about the Edmonton Oilers’ quest to build a winning team unfolds over the intense, drama-filled month of April.

By beating the Calgary Flames 8-2 on April 3rd, the Oilers move into the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. It is the first time they’ve been in the playoff picture this late in a season since 2006.

But joy around Edmonton is short-lived. Less than two weeks later, the Oilers have lost six straight games and dropped out of contention, a stunning reversal of fortune. On April 15th, Tambellini is abruptly replaced as G.M. by Senior VP of hockey operations and former head coach Craig MacTavish

The rest of the episode tracks the Oilers through the disappointing end of their season. Now they must play out their remaining games purely for the sake of professional pride, and in the process prove they really deserve to be part of this team as it moves forward into next season

Don’t miss the high-drama and heartbreak of NHL hockey during the playoff push. Watch the final episode of this season’s Oil Change premiering on Sunday, May 5th at 5 p.m. on Sportsnet One, with repeat broadcasts at 7 p.m. (Sportsnet East and Ontario), 9 p.m. (Sportsnet West) and 10 p.m. (Sportsnet Pacific).
