Occupation/Profession: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Career Goal: Sonography is exceptionally diverse in its applications from obstetrics and gynecology to cardiology and more. Since the beginning of my career a year ago I have become responsible in helping to train and coordinate students. I not only hope to become a skilled technician but I also hope to become an exceptional resource and mentor for these students.

Favorite type of workout: Moksha Yoga, the River Valley Stairs, Kettlebell training, Dancing.

Why do you love the game of Hockey: When I was younger, my cousin and I were best friends. He grew up playing hockey and I was often there watching in the sidelines. Attending those games always brought family and friends together the same way watching the Oilers games unites the city of Edmonton.

Best Characteristic: My dedication and perseverance. If there is a will there is way.

What is something unique about you that most people don’t know: My siblings and I were all born in different countries.

Favourite place in Oil Country: Top of the glenora stairs at sunset.

Dream vacation:
Anywhere out of my comfort zone where I can learn new languages, try new foods, meet new people, and become engaged in different cultures.

Favorite food: I love my sushi!!!

Dream Date: Take me to do something adventurous/athletic, feed me amazing food (I love food), and make me laugh.

Favourite winter accessory: Why my long johns of course!! haha JK. I can't live without my Canada Goose Parka and UGGs!!

Describe your personal style: Casual and comfortable... and always wearing a smile.

Why do you want to be part of the Octane: I wanted to be a part of a dynamic team that encompasses much more than dancing and performance. The team is also diverse in it's participation within the community and youth as well.

Who inspires you: My parents immigrated from asia with literally nothing. They lived in a refugee camp and eventually made it to Canada where they worked hard to provide a comfortable life for my siblings and I. They are a constant reminder of strength, perseverance, dedication and hard work.

What is your performance background: I began training in dance at the age of 6 including ballet, tap, jazz and more. Since then I have been involved in several opening ceremonies from grey cup to world games. My competitive cheerleading career began at 14 where I eventually received a scholarship to cheerlead for the University of Alberta. Since then I have cheered for several open all star cheer teams in which I have competed both nationally and internationally.

Best Memory as an Octane Member: I have been blessed to participate in numerous volunteer opportunities from monday morning magic to stollery children's hospital visits. These experiences have truly enriched my life and given me a different perspective and appreciation for life
