The Edmonton Oilers proudly support minor hockey and ringette associations of Northern Alberta through 50/50 draws that take place during Edmonton Oilers home games.
Tickets are $5 each, 3 for $10 or 10 for $20 and can be purchased until the middle of the second intermission, with one lucky winner taking home 50% of the pot.
In return for providing a group of volunteers to run the 50/50, participating associations will receive $8,000. Please note that these proceeds may only be used for uses currently approved by the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
The remaining proceeds will be be used by the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation in support of the redevelopment of Inner City High School, the ICE School and other programs supporting education and health and wellness for youth throughout Oil Country.
Applications for the 2012-2013 season are no longer being accepted.
To participate in the Edmonton Oilers 50/50 program, minor hockey and ringette groups must:
- be registered and in good standing with the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission and must be eligible to receive gaming proceeds in accordance with AGLC policies
- be and active and engaged group focused on fundraising for your association
- be a willing and active parter with the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club in supporting community initiatives throughout the year
Volunteers must arrive 2.5 hours prior to the start of the game and will be expected to work into the third period of play, for a total commitment of approximately five hours.
Each association selected to participate must sign a Participant Agreement with the EOCF. In addition, the Executive Director or Volunteer Coordinator of all selected gropus will be required to attend an information session prior to the season.
