The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation is a proud partner with the Edmonton Journal in this annual fundraising program.  The key objectives of the Raise a Reader campaign are to increase awareness of and raise money for children's literacy programs in Northern Alberta. 

Once a year, high profile members of the community rise bright and early to brave the elements and sell special editions of the Edmonton Journal on downtown street corners in exchange for donations to the Raise a Reader fund.  This year, Edmonton Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini and Oilers Staff joined the volunteer base to help support the cause.

The EOCF is a proud recipient of Raise a Reader funding through which we fund the Share a Book program.
