Davie is entering his 11th season with the Oilers training department. The 36-year-old native of Provost, Alberta will work closely with Head Athletic Therapist, T.D. Forss and the Oilers medical staff in injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation.
A graduate of the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation, Davie’s first stint with the Oilers came from 1999-00 to 2000-01 when he served as the team’s Assistant Athletic Therapist. Following his two seasons with the Oilers he was named the Head Athletic Therapist for the Oilers’ American Hockey League affiliate, serving in that role for four seasons. During that span he spent two seasons with the Hamilton Bulldogs (2001-02 to 2002-03) and one each with the Toronto Roadrunners (2003-04) and Edmonton Road Runners (2004-05).
Following the NHL lockout season, Davie joined Toronto and was the Maple Leafs Assistant Athletic Therapist in 2005-06 and 2006-07 before serving as the Head Athletic Therapist for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies in 2007-08.
During his career, Davie has also worked on the training staffs of both the Edmonton Eskimos (CFL) and Edmonton Cracker Cats baseball team. He is a member of the Canadian Athletic Therapist Association, the National Athletic Trainers Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society.
Chris and his wife, Julie, make Edmonton their home along with sons Benjamin (9) and Sebastian (7).
