STEPHEN LINES
MASSAGE THERAPIST

Lines, 36, enters his seventh season as a member of the Oilers training staff. He joined the Oilers in 2007-08 after spending three seasons (2005 to 2007) with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. A Registered Massage Therapist, he holds a degree from the Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapies in Winnipeg, Manitoba and has worked closely with Hockey Canada since 2001.

Lines was a member of the Team Canada training staff at the 2008 IIHF World Championship in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Quebec City, Quebec, serving as the Massage Therapist for the silver medal winning hosts. It was his second appearance with Team Canada as he was the Massage Therapist with the 2007 National Junior Team, helping Canada win the gold medal at the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Sweden.

Lines has also worked many of Hockey Canada’s development and selection camps for both the men’s and women’s national teams as well as with the Canadian Under-18 teams. He worked closely with the national team in its preparations for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.

Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Lines grew-up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, before beginning his professional sports career in Calgary. Besides his work with the Calgary Stampeders and Hockey Canada, he has worked with both the Calgary Flames and Calgary Hitmen.
