Oilers Hockey School
Skate to success at the Oilers Hockey School where grassroots players receive high-calibre instruction from the pros. Partnering with the Okanagan Hockey School, the Oilers Hockey School focuses on comprehensive training in a supportive and fun-filled environment. World-class instructors provide balance, featuring both on- and off-ice instruction including skating, shooting, core skills and daily strength conditioning and information sessions. Offering three, one-week long sessions in St. Albert and a week-long session in Leduc, Oilers and Oil Kings players, alumni and coaches will makes special appearances weekly offering one-of-a-kind tips and support to the young athletes.

Oilers Skills Competition presented by Rogers
The Oilers Skills Competition presented by Rogers took place in Rexall Place for the final time on Sunday, January 24, 2016. The sell-out crowd helped to create a memorable atmosphere with net proceeds from the event benefiting the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and the NHLPA Goals and Dreams Fund. Hospital Visits
It’s all smiles in Oil Country during annual Oilers hospital visits when the entire team spends the day visiting numerous Edmonton-area hospitals and rehabilitation centres. Year-after-year, the players help spread joy and fun, touching the lives of those they meet. It’s a special opportunity for each player to engage with truly inspiring people in-and-around Edmonton. This year, the team visited various hospitals on Tuesday, December 8, 2015.

Read In Week
Read In Week, a city-wide initiative, has been promoting literacy since 1990. The Oilers and Oilers Octane proudly share the joy of reading with local students in the greater Edmonton area. This year, it was back to school for seven Oilers players as Luke Gazdic, Griffin Reinhart, Matt Hendricks, Teddy Purcell, Rob Klinkhammer, Cam Talbot, and Brandon Davidson took to the classroom to share the importance of literacy as part of Edmonton’s Read In Week program.

Oilers Hockey Clinic presented by Cenovus Energy
Each season, the Oilers Hockey Clinic presented by Cenovus Energy invades an Oil Country community for one weekend offering a top-notch Hockey Clinic to local youth. The free clinic welcomes youth aged 7- to 13-years-old offering high-calibre instruction and fun as it celebrates our great game. The clinic offers multiple ice sessions, off-ice dryland training, yoga, concussion management and nutrition counselling, helping set up local youth for hockey success. Special guests include Oilers players and notable Oilers Alumni. In the past, Oilers Hockey Clinic has made its mark on communities including: Fort McMurray, Athabasca, Lac La Biche and Bonnyville. This year, we will be bringing the Oilers Hockey Clinic to Cold Lake for the weekend of April 22-24, 2016.

Future Goals - Hockey Scholar
The Edmonton Oilers, in partnership with the NHL and NHLPA, are excited to introduce Future Goals - Hockey Scholar. This program is a unique science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) online course for students in grades 5-7. The course leverages the exciting game of hockey as a learning vehicle to energize students in these critical topics and is available to schools at no cost.
