Tonight’s game is now underway.

18:44: St. Louis received the first power play of the game. Mark Fraser received two minutes for holding during a wild scramble in front of Oilers starting goaltender Ben Scrivens.

15:12: Oilers were able to kill off the penalty but shots nearly five minutes into the opening frame were 6-0 Blues.

12:53: Edmonton gets its first shot of the game, a slapper from the left point by Boyd Gordon. Shots were 7-1.

12:21: Perron's shot from the high slot beats Blues starting goaltender Ryan Miller high blocker side to put the Oilers in front early. | EDM 1, STL 0
11:40: Yakupov was set up by Nugent-Hopkins with a great pass in the slot. Yakupov had two great chances but was denied by Miller. Moments later, Eberle's wrist shot was snagged from the air by Miller.

8:21: Roman Polak gets sent off for tripping, giving the Oilers their first power play of the game.

5:24: Boyd Gordon blocks a shot and skates off gingerly to the bench.

1:12: Vlad Sobotka crashes the net and manages to slip the puck past Scrivens to tie the game up at 1-1. | EDM 1, STL 1

Second period has started.

14:55: Vladimir Tarasenko picked up a feed from T.J. Oshie in the slot and wired it blocker side past Scrivens to put St. Louis in front. | STL 2, EDM 1
10:02: Taylor Hall gets two minutes for high sticking to send St. Louis back on the power play.

4:50: Oilers call a timeout after icing the puck following a sustained period of attack by the Blues in the Edmonton zone.

1:57: On what was a wild play, Edmonton scored to tie the game at 2-2. Jesse Joensuu tried to leap over a fallen Barret Jackman but his knee hit the Blues defenceman in the head. With Jackman down, the puck went to Mark Fraser whose backhand somehow found its way through Miller and into the back of the net. | EDM 2, STL 2

Third period has started.

19:18: Sobotka continues his impressive game after returning from injury, centring the puck from the corner to Alex Pietrangelo in front. Pietrangelo's quick release beats Scrivens to make it 3-2. | STL 3, EDM 2
15:35: St. Louis strikes again to double their lead to 4-2. David Backes centres the puck to to Jaden Schwartz at the hashmarks and he makes no mistake, blasting the puck in for the goal. | STL 4, EDM 2
13:46: Luke Gazdic and Ryan Reaves tangle after the whistle and receive 10-minute misconducts. Smyth also received two for cross-checking on the same play. Result is a power play for St. Louis.

12:40: Fraser received two for cross-checking to set up a two-man advantage for the next 55 seconds.

12:04: On the two-man advantage, St. Louis capitalized to extend their lead to three goals. Steen's point shot was kicked out by Scrivens but Oshie pounced on the rebound. | STL 5, EDM 2
9:27: Sobotka and Perron exchange words after Hall was clipped with a high stick, resulting in Perron getting the extra two minutes (inexplicably, for high sticking) and another Blues power play. Gazdic and Reaves also received game misconducts at this stoppage in play.

7:04: Schwartz picked up a rebound and backhanded it in to make it a 6-2 game. | STL 6, EDM 2
3:18: Unpleasantries between both sides continues as Hall and Tarasenko go at it. Tarasenko receives the extra two minutes.

1:13: Just as that penalty expires, Shattenkirk gets two for cross-checking for another late Edmonton power play.
