Tonight's game is now underway.

17:30: Calgary has the best scoring chance early in the game as Paul Byron can't get a handle on the puck with Oilers starting goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov struggling to get back into position.

9:45: Sean Monahan picks up a rebound at the top of the crease and rifles it high past Brzygalov to put Calgary on the board first. | CGY 1, EDM 0
9:44: Right off the draw, Kevin Westgarth and Luke Gazdic drop the gloves. Gazdic KO's McGrattan with a knockout punch and the Flames enforcer has to be tended to then helped off the ice.

8:46: Giordano swipes the puck out of harm's way at the goal line after Nick Schultz's shot gets through Calgary goaltender Reto Berra.
1:24: Bryzgalov stops Giordano on a partial breakaway. The Flames defenceman didn't quite get everything he wanted to on the puck.

0:00: Shots on goal after one period were 11-10 for Calgary.

SECOND PERIOD

20:00:
Period two is now underway.

17:47: Giordano gets two minutes for holding after pinning David Perron against the boards. The result is Edmonton getting the first power play of the game.

12:48: Ladislav Smid gets two minutes for high sticking, sending the Oilers back on the power play.

2:16: Ryan Jones gets a slashing penalty, sending the Flames on the power play for the first time.

1:20: Andrew Ference heads to the box, also for slashing to give Calgary a two-man advantage for 1:05.

0:00: Shots on goal after 40 minutes were 15-14 for Edmonton.

THIRD PERIOD

20:00:
Third period has started.

16:24: Calgary registers the first five shots of the period and are now outshooting the Oilers 19-15.

13:35: Petry gets two minutes for high sticking to send the Flames back on the power play.

10:59: Mark Giordano rings a shot off the post behind Bryzgalov.

10:17: Oilers finally break the goose egg as David Perron wires a shot from the left circle past Berra to make it 1-1. | EDM 1, CGY 1
3:15: Dennis Wideman and Taylor Hall exchange some unpleasantries. Both players are sent to the penalty box, resulting in four-on-four.

1:44:
Shots on goal late in the third period are 25-21 for Calgary.

OVERTIME

4:10:
Monahan scores his second of the game to give Calgary the win.
