Line Combinations (and defence pairings) for the Oilers:

Defence pairings:

Out: Larsen (illness), Potter (groin), Joensuu (flu), Hemsky (foot)

Tonight's game is now underway.

17:37: An interference penalty on Anton Belov 2:23 into the game gave Minnesota the game's first power play.

15:23: Matt Cooke brushed by Oilers starting goaltender Ben Scrivens, causing Scrivens to lose his balance. The result was Edmonton's first man advantage shortly after they had killed off the Belov penalty.

9:24: Minnesota struck for the game's first goal just past the opening period's midway point. Mikael Granlund beat Martin Marincin in a race to the puck before poking it out front to Jason Pominville. Pominville danced around Scrivens before backhanding it into the open net. | MIN 1, EDM 0
7:46: Ryan Jones dropped the gloves with Stephane Veilleux. It was a very brief fight that ended up being more like a wrestling match with both players falling to the ice quickly.
4:38: Shots on goal with just over five minutes to play in the first period were 7-7.

0.0: Final shot count was 9-7 Edmonton.

Second period is now underway.

18:44: Scrivens makes a couple of big saves as the Wild buzz around the Oilers crease.

17:24: Nail Yakupov chipped the puck up ice and out of the Oilers zone after the Wild had some sustained pressure. That sent Jordan Eberle in on a two-on-one with Mark Arcobello. Eberle cut across the slot and fired the puck top corner. | EDM 1, MIN 1
16:37: After an icing call, the Oilers called a timeout.

13:55: Erik Haula gets a penalty for hooking and Edmonton heads to the power play for a second time on the night.

10:16: Minnesota calls for its 30-second timeout after icing the puck.

3:15: Nate Prosser's shot from the right point was a quick riser and handcuffed Scrivens. The Oilers netminder got a piece of it but not enough as it found its way into the back of the net. | MIN 2, EDM 1
1:03: Matt Cooke ran Yakupov into the boards, appearing to injure the Oilers forward. The play then went back up the ice and on a broken play during a scramble in front of the Edmonton net, Justin Fontaine managed to chip the puck past Scrivens and give the Wild a two-goal lead. | MIN 3, EDM 1
0.0: Shots on goal after two periods were 22-16 for the Wild.

Third period starts. Nail Yakupov is not with the team on the bench to start the frame.

19:52: Right off the draw, the Wild struck to make it a three-goal game. The Oilers' Boyd Gordon actually won the draw but the Wild pounced on the puck and skated down the ice on an odd-man rush. After a nice three-way passing play, Jason Zucker converted for the goal. | MIN 4, EDM 1
18:02: David Perron received two minutes for holding.

15:15: Kyle Brodziak gets sent off for hooking, giving Edmonton a chance to get back in the game.

9:59: Erik Haula was hauled down on a two-on-one by Marincin, giving Minnesota a man advantage.

2:41: Shots on goal with time winding down in the third was 31-19 for the Wild.
