FIRST PERIOD

20:00:
Tonight's game is now underway.

19:46: It didn't take Dallas long to get on the board. 14 seconds into the game, Erik Cole took a feed from the slot by Trevor Daley and deposited the puck into the wide open net with Oilers starting goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov out of position. | DAL 1, EDM 0
17:01: Dallas nearly gained a two-goal lead when a shot from the left circle snuck between the legs of Bryzgalov but Jeff Petry was able to retrieve the puck right on the goal line. Moments later, Ryan Jones dropped the gloves with Brenden Dillon. The fists flew furiously in the fight but neither combatant could claim an edge.

16:20: 40 seconds later, the Oilers tied the game up. Justin Schultz picked up a feed from Taylor Hall while driving towards the net. Schultz made a great move before backhanding it past Lehtonen for the goal. | EDM 1, DAL 1
11:25: Ray Whitney carried the puck behind the net and wrapped it around through the Oilers crease. Ryan Garbutt was stationed in the crease and jammed the puck in with his stick. | DAL 2, EDM 1
10:15: Sam Gagner gets two minutes for interference, sending Dallas on the game's first power play.

9:38: 37 seconds into the man advantage, Jamie Benn wires a shot from the left circle past Bryzgalov to make it a two-goal game. | DAL 3, EDM 1
0.0: Shots on goal after one period were 12-10 for Dallas.

SECOND PERIOD

20:00:
Second period is now underway.

18:50: Dallas extended its lead to 4-1 after Cody Eakin redirected a cross-crease pass into the net. | DAL 4, EDM 1
16:38: Edmonton's first power play of the game came 3:32 into the period. Erik Cole knocked down Ales Hemsky and received two minutes for tripping.

15:51: Nugent-Hopkins rang a shot off the crossbar.

10:30: Benn runs some interference on Arcobello, receiving two minutes for his efforts and Oilers return to the power play.

9:32: Gagner poked in a rebound for a power play marker as Oilers swarmed around the Dallas goal. | DAL 4, EDM 2
2:49: Shots on goal late in the second period were 24-20 for Edmonton.

2:05: Hemsky blocks a shot and skates off awkwardly afterwards.

0.0: Final shot count after 40 minutes was 25-21 Oilers after outshooting Dallas 15-9 in the second.

THIRD PERIOD

20:00:
Third period is now underway.

18:00: Oilers do some line juggling in the third period as Ales Hemsky doesn't come out, putting Yakupov with Smyth and Gordon and moving David Perron up to the second line with Mark Arcobello and Jordan Eberle. Jones was subbed in on the Yakupov-Smyth line also.

11:10: Shots are 28-27 Oilers near the middle point of the third.

5:13: Lehtonen smothers the puck after a give-and-go by Taylor Hall and Sam Gagner is intercepted by Dillon at the top of the crease.

3:00: Oilers pull Bryzgalov for the extra attacker.

0:39: Trevor Daley adds an empty netter. | DAL 5, EDM 2
