Nice grinding goal by oilers top line. You can't paint a Picasso on every goal.— Jason Strudwick (@Struds1260) January 1, 2014

13:10: Hall nets his third assist of the game, dishing it over to Justin Schultz who rips a shot past Smith and puts Edmonton in front by two. | EDM 3, PHX 1

Hall has 3 points tonight and 38 on the year. Tied for 15th in NHL scoring. He's making as good a case as he could have made.— Dan Tencer (@dantencer) January 1, 2014
8:51: Shots on goal were 27-10 for the Coyotes just past the game's midway point.

20:00: Third period is now underway.
14:49: Greiss makes a big stop after a very nice three-way passing play between Horak, Eberle and Gagner.
10:56: The line of Hall, RNH and Perron have an outstanding shift with a couple of great scoring chances but Greiss is equal to the task.
7:58: A penalty on Perron for slashing sends Phoenix on their second power play of the night with a great chance to tie things up.
5:06: Oilers kill off the penalty; shots on goal are 38-19 for the Coyotes.
1:19: Just as Greiss was pulled for the extra attacker, Yandle teed up a shot from the point and Bryzgalov made a great glove save to preserve the one-goal lead for the visitors.

5:00: Overtime is now underway.
4:31: 29 second into overtime, Eberle split the defence to set up a great scoring chance but was hauled down by Derek Morris. That set up the Oilers first power play of the game at a most opportune time.
2:31: Penalty is killed off.
6.5: Yandle is sprung for a breakaway after a turnover in the Coyotes zone. Yandle muscles his way to the net and fires it five-hole on Bryzgalov for the winner. | PHX 4, EDM 3
