The Edmonton Oilers face off against the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at Rexall Place.

Line Combinations (and defence pairings) for the Oilers:

Defence pairings:

Out: Arcobello (ribs), Jones (head), Larsen (illness), Potter (groin)

The game has started.

19:28: It only took the Oilers 32 seconds to get on the board. Taylor Hall took advantage of a fortunate bounce and got in behind the Flyers defence. He stickhandled then fired top corner behind Steve Mason to give his side a 1-0 lead. | EDM 1, PHI 0
15:58: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins made it a two-goal game after a nifty move after crossing the line. He skated towards the left circle then fired a wrist shot past Steve Mason for the goal. | EDM 2, PHI 0
11:23: Jordan Eberle is hooked while driving to the net by Nicklas Grossman, resulting in a hooking penalty and Edmonton getting the game's first power play of the night.

8:18: Shots on goal with eight minutes left in the period were five apiece.

5:15: Flyers start putting the pressure on and over a three-minute stint outshoot the Oilers 6-1.

3:23: Zac Rinaldo gets sent to the bin for charging, putting Edmonton on the power play once again.

1:07: The Rinaldo penalty expired and seconds later, Hall was dumped deep in the Flyers zone by Mark Streit. His cross-checking penalty gave Edmonton their third man advantage of the evening.

0.0: Shots on goal after one period were 11-8 for Philadelphia.

The second period is now underway.
19:30: The Flyers came flying out of the gate to start the middle frame with a pair of shorthanded scoring chances. Bryzgalov stopped Sean Couturier on a breakaway and then dove to knock the puck away on a second opportunity right on his doorstep.

16:39: Jakub Voracek is dumped by Andrew Ference in the Oilers zone after another series of five-star scoring chances by the Flyers, sending Philadelphia on the power play for the first time.

16:23: Claude Giroux teed up a shot from the left circle 16 seconds into the man advantage and the puck was tipped on its way to the net by Wayne Simmonds for the goal, making it a 2-1 game. | EDM 2, PHI 1
10:51: Near the midway point of the period, Philadelphia had a 9-1 lead in shots over the Oilers.

8:45: An elbowing penalty on Perron put the Flyers back on the PP.

7:47: Standing at the top of the crease, Simmonds tapped in a quick feed off the side boards from Voracek past Bryzgalov to tie the game up. | EDM 2, PHI 2
7:47: Oilers call a 30-second timeout. Shots in the period are now 12-1 Philly.

2:04: Steve Mason comes up with a huge save on a redirection after Hall spotted Justin Schultz streaking up the middle.

0.0: Shots after 40 were 25-11 for the Flyers.

The third period is now underway.

18:55: Petry received a holding penalty, grabbing Claude Giroux in front of the Edmonton net to deny him a scoring opportunity. The penalty gave the Flyers dangerous power play their third man advantage of the night after having scored already on the previous two.

16:55: Oilers are able to kill off the penalty.

15:15: Vincent Lecavalier was sent to the box, setting up an Edmonton man advantage.

12:15: Oilers are unable to convert but have a few really good chances to score during the power play and then slightly afterwards as well. The best came on a partial breakaway for Jesse Joensuu but the Finnish forward fired the puck over the net.

9:01: Kimmo Timonen was sent to the box for holding to give Edmonton another power play chance to take the lead.

8:08: David Perron's centring pass from the side of the net went in off Grossman in the Flyers crease and in to put Edmonton back in front. | EDM 3, PHI 2
6:18: Hemsky heads to the box to set up another Flyers power play.

5:44: Petry receives two for cross-checking, giving Philadelphia a two-man advantage.

5:32: Hartnell tips in a blast to tie the game up -- Philly's third PPG of the night. | EDM 3, PHI 3
2:13: Perron breaks in alone on Mason and attempts a backhand deke but just narrowly missed.

0.0: Shots on goal after regulation were 36-15 for the Flyers.

Overtime is now underway.

1:10: Edmonton's best chance in the extra frame came on a two-on-one with Gagner and Petry. Gagner's extra move in the slot caused him to lose the puck in front of Mason.
