FIRST PERIOD

20:00:
The game has started.

16:17: Calgary carried the play early on, outshooting the Oilers 4-1 through the first four minutes.

14:54: The first penalty of the game goes to Jordan Eberle, two minutes for tripping.

12:54: Oilers are able to kill off the Eberle penalty.

8:18: As Eberle was trying to break into the Flames zone, he was hacked by T.J. Brodie to set up Edmonton's first power play of the night.

7:00: Edmonton comes close to getting the game's first goal. A nice three-way passing play ends in Ryan Smyth fanning on a shot at the doorstep with a wide open net.
5:07: Calgary looks to take the lead with just over five minutes to play. Mark Giordano's wrist shot from the high slot beats Dubnyk but it's ruled that Joe Colborne interfered with the Oilers netminder moments before the puck went in.

2:38: Oilers strike for a flukey one. Hemsky's shot from the side boards banks in off Ryan Smyth in front of the net. The goal is reviewed and ruled a good goal. | EDM 1, CGY 0
2.1: Dubnyk makes a nice glove grab on a one-timer blast from Brodie.

0.0: Shots on goal after one period were 12-10 for Calgary.

SECOND PERIOD

20:00:
Second period is underway.

18:50: Lee Stempniak goes off for hooking, setting up another Oilers man advantage.

14:20: Anton Lander gets in behind the Calgary defence and breaks in all alone on Reto Berra. Lander elects to shoot and Berra makes the stop.

7:28: A boarding penalty on Anton Belov sends the Flames on the power play with a chance to tie the game up.

4:08: Oilers ice the puck and then call a timeout to rest their weary skaters.

50.1: With less than a minute to go in the middle frame, Taylor Hall is upended by Matt Stajan, sending the Oilers on the PP.

0.0: Shots after 40 minutes are 20-16 Calgary.
THIRD PERIOD

20:00:
Third period is underway. Oilers have 1:10 remaining in their power play.

16:30: Oilers announce that Corey Potter will not return to tonight's game due to a groin injury.
15:12: Berra makes a nice diving save on Taylor Hall as the Oilers winger powered to the net and stabbed at a loose puck in front.

14:20: Mark Giordano rings a shot off the post behind Dubnyk.

6:10: Berra makes a nice stop off a Tayor Hall one timer.

1:10: Flames pull Reto Berra

58.8: David Perron was tripped up at the blueline by Mark Giordano as he tried to gain a lane to the empty Flames net. Result was a penalty to Giordano.

12.1: Linesmen erroneously call an icing, setting up a faceoff at centre ice.

5.8: Smyth adds an empty net goal.
