PRE-GAME NOTES

The Edmonton Oilers play their first of four road games in a seven-day span, tonight.

FIRST PERIOD

20:00: The first period is underway in Vancouver!

15:29: First whistle of the night comes 4:31 into the game. The Canucks on the offensive early but the Oilers manage to survive the early pressure.

7:21: Ales Hemsky and Tayor Hall skate in on a two-on-one. Hall finds Hemsky in the slot and he attempts to deke but his backhand is poked away by Luongo.

3:18: Henrik Sedin checks Philip Larsen into Dubnyk and receives an interference penalty as a result.

1:18: Oilers power play gets no shots on goal as the Canucks PK gets the kill.

0.0: Oilers being outshot 14-4 after the first period but Dubnyk keeps the game scoreless. | EDM 0, VAN 0

           
SECOND PERIOD

20:00: The second period has started.

19:32: Taylor Hall rings a shot off the post early in the period.
12:21: Larsen receives two minutes for boarding and Henrik Sedin goes off for interference to set up a four-on-four situation.

11:55: Chris Higgins gets in behind the Oilers defence but his deke attempt is denied by Dubnyk. Arcobello then gets a slashing penalty on the play to put Vancouver on a four-on-three man advantage.

11:19: Daniel Sedin's shot from the point goes off the skate of Nick Schultz in front to beat Dubnyk and give Vancouver the lead. | VAN 1, EDM 0
9:00: Shots on goal a minute past the game's midway point are 21-6 for the Canucks.

6:25: David Perron skates in on a two-on-one with Justin Schultz. Perron elects to attempt a wrist shot and Luongo snags it out of the air for his best save of the game to this point.

2:58: Dubnyk was sharp with a big arm save at point-blank range after Kesler received a great pass from Dale Wiese and put it on net.

0.0: Shots on goal after two periods were 26-10 for Vancouver.

THIRD PERIOD

20:00: The third period is underway.

17:34: Zack Kassian tips a shot from David Booth through the legs of Dubnyk, doubling the Vancouver lead. | VAN 2, EDM 0
13:53: Higgins fires a wrist shot from the left circle after receiving a nice pass from Kesler. His shot beats Dubnyk five-hole for the goal. | VAN 3, EDM 0
13:31: Henrik Sedin gets his stick up on Nick Schultz and recieves two minutes for high sticking.

3:00: Oilers reunite the line of Nugent-Hopkins, Eberle and Hall in an effort to give the team some offensive spark.

0:48: Perron gets sent off for roughing.

34.8: Dale Weise bangs home a rebound for a power play goal, extending the Canucks lead. | VAN 4, EDM 0
