PRE-GAME NOTES

Devan Dubnyk will get the start in net tonight for the third straight game for Edmonton.

The Oilers will be without Taylor Hall and Ryan Smyth who both returned to Edmonton for medical evaluation. Hall will miss about four weeks with a knee injury while Smyth is out about a week a groin ailment.

Mike Brown was traded to San Jose last night.

09:37: Halfway through the first period and the Oilers trail in shots 5-4.

09:19: Perron to the box for roughing.

07:19: Strong penalty kill by the Oilers and a big pad save by Dubnyk keeps things scoreless.

03:30: Oilers struggle to get the puck out of their zone with some pressure by the Habs and Luke Gazdic takes a tripping penalty.

03:24: Montreal scores on the power play. Andrei Markov finds Tomas Plekanec at the far face-off dot and the Canadiens forward finds the back of the net, six seconds into the PP. | EDM 0, MTL 1

01:57: The Canadiens push their momentum forward as a pass is intercepted at the blue line and Brendan Gallagher breaks in on Dubnyk and snipes far side. | EDM 0, MTL 2

SECOND PERIOD

20:00: The second period is underway!

14:01: Eberle with a nice try short-side on Price by the puck gets lodged in the net minder's pads.

12:08: Smid and Bournival each to the box for roughing.

09:58: Desharnais holds down Yakupov and the Oilers have a power play!
