10:59: Dubnyk squares up and takes a Bobby Ryan shot head on. A heavy scoring opportunity by the Senators.

04:29: Ladislav Smid gets 2 minutes for holding and will sit. Big PK for the Oilers who look to control 2 goal lead.

02:29: Consider it killed. The Oilers kill off the Ottawa power play as Smid races out of the box.

00:38: Ryan Smyth gets a roughing penalty for coming to Perron's defence as the Oiler was being cross-checked into the ice after a collision with Lehner.

00:00: Dubnyk flashed the glove on a save late, the Oilers are being out-shot 15-7 and will start the second on the 1:22 penalty kill but they have the lead after the first. | EDM 2, OTT 0


20:00: Second period is now underway.

16:43: Smyth tries to wrap the puck in past Lehner from behind the net but the Sens netminder squeezes his pad against the post to keep it a 2-0 game.

16:33: Spezza cross-checks Gazdic and is sent to the box, giving Edmonton the man advantage.

13:52: Shortly after the Spezza penalty is killed off, the Oilers go right back on the power play.

8:56: Taylor Hall gets two for slashing and the power plays continue through the middle frame.

6:26: Hall heads to the dressing room in some discomfort.

4:36: Denis Grebeshkov runs some interference behind the Oilers net and gets two minutes in the box as a result.

16:20: Milan Michalek runs into Dubnyk to get goaltender interference and during the delayed penalty, Jeff Petry is upended by Jared Cowen. The result is a two-minute Oilers five-on-three (barring any Oilers penalties during that span).

13:57: Ottawa kills off the penalty and then 23 seconds later, Smid upends Conacher to put the Sens on the man advantage.

8:46: With less than nine minutes to play, shots on goal are 32-16 for Ottawa, including 7-1 in the final frame.

5:49: A weird bounce results in the puck going off the shaft of Chris Neil's stick and in as it spiralled in behind Dubnyk. | EDM 2, OTT 1
3:48: Some pushing and shoving after David Perron sprays some snow in the face of Sens netminder Lehner.
