PRE-GAME NOTES

It's game one of the AHL Western Conference Final as the Oklahoma City Barons take on the Grand Rapids Griffins. The Barons has had the last seven days off when they defeated the Texas Stars, 5-1 on May 16 to take the series, 4-1. The Griffins are coming off a 4-3 win against the Toronto Marlies on Tuesday, as they went on to win the series, 4-2. We'll have live minute-to-minute updates as the game goes on.

FIRST PERIOD

20:00: GAME ON!! Puck has dropped.

19:51: Yann Danis was tested early as the Barons turned over the puck in their own zone but Danis was able make the save as he got a piece of it.

12:45: Riley Sheahan behind the net passed the puck to Brennan Evans and from the blue line, threw the puck on net and had it bounced off a stick in front and in past Danis to open the scoring. The goal is Evans' first since Feb. 21, 2012. | GRG 1, OKC 0

10:01: The Barons draw the first penalty as Ben Eager gets two minutes for interference.

7:51: Griffins' Adam Almquist all-alone in front but Danis made the stick save to deflect it high and out of play.

3:20: Andrew Hothman tied it up as he beat Mrazek on the short side. | OKC 1, GRG 1

The Barons go on their first powerplay of the game as Teemu Pulkkinen was called for hooking.

After 20 minutes, the game is tied 1-1 and shots are net are 9-7 for the Griffins.


SECOND PERIOD

20:00: Second period is now underway.

17:25: Tomas Jurco down low made a backhand cross-crease pass to Landon Ferraro and put it up and over the glove of Danis to retake the lead. | GRG 2, OKC 1

Luke Glendening was called for holding and the Barons go on their second powerplay of the game.

16:10: Philippe Cornet on the doorstep but couldn't put it shovel the puck past Mrazek.

13:54: It's four-on-four hockey for two minutes as Chris VandeVede gets two minutes for holding and Francis Pare gets two minutes for slashing.

10:24: It's back to the penalty kill as Tanner House is called for interference.

5:40: Pulkkinen with the shot from the point but Danis made the save. Jurco with the rebound but Danis was able to get a piece of it and batted it to the corner to keep the game within one.

5:08: The Barons are on their third powerplay as Triston Grant gets called for roughing.

3:49: Toni Rajala skated in all alone but Mrazek was able to make the save.

3:46: It's four-on-four for 38 seconds as Josh Green is called for delay of game faceoff violation.

0:00: After 40 minutes, the Griffins lead, 2-0. Shots on net were 23-22 for the Griffins.

SECOND PERIOD NOTES: Both teams were 0/3 on the powerplay. Green currently leads the Barons with five shots on net.


THIRD PERIOD

20:00: The third and final period is now underway.

18:39: Garret Stafford from the slot but Mrzarek was able to make the save but the puck bounced out of his glove and just wide of the net.

13:33: Barons are on the penalty kill as Mark Arcobello is called for slashing.

9:04: Green with the chance to tie it up as he was all alone in front but Mrazek was able to make the save.

1:10: Danis is out of the net for the extra skater. Jonathan Cheechoo in front with the wide-open net but dropped his stick and couldn't convert.

0:07: Barons call a time-out as they try to regroup for one last play. Faceoff just outside the blue line.

The buzzer sounds and a scrum ensues in the Griffins corner. The Barons drop Game one of the AHL Western Conference Final. Their next game will be on Saturday at 5:00 P.M. (MT) in Grand Rapids. Shots on net were even at 28 a piece and the final score was 2-1. | GRG 2, OKC 1
