One Win Away

EDMONTON - The Chicago Blackhawks are looking to clinch their first Presidents’ Trophy title in 22 years with a win over the Oilers.

They are currently ahead of the Pittsburgh Penguins by three-points with one game in hand.

“We’ve obviously got three-games left and we’re excited tonight. We’ve had some tough games against these guys. They’ve got a lot of speed on their team, but I think our speed is one of our assets and that’s what we have to use tonight,” said Duncan Keith.

Team-leading point-scorer Patrick Kane said the start of the season was one of the most successful they’ve had but they’re trying to focus on winning the Stanley Cup again.

“It’s probably been one of the most successful. I don’t know if you can do any better than winning the Stanley Cup but we’re trying to repeat that in here.

“But I think first and foremost, we have to worry about trying to clinch tonight and getting better as a team heading into the playoffs. The team feels and looks pretty good. There are a lot of players who can play on a lot of teams, maybe sitting out here and it’s nice to have that depth.”

Patrick Sharp, who recently came back from an injury, is excited to join the team and get his legs going underneath him.

“I feel pretty good, excited. It’s never easy sitting out, working on your own to try and get back into the lineup. It’s nice to be back with the guys and looking forward to getting out there and playing the game. “

The Blackhawks are facing the Oilers for their third and final matchup and so far, the Oilers have been able to grab three out of a possible four points from Chicago.

Brent Seabrook, who has one point in two games against the Oilers this year said they have to focus on their game and continue playing they way they’ve been playing regardless of the team and building.

“They’re obviously a very good team and they can score some goals. We’ve had some tough times in this building in the last couple of years and we’ve got to come out with a good effort tonight and try and forget that. I know we’ve had some good nights here in the last 3-4 years as well so we’ve got to get back to playing our game in this building and play well.”
