The Edmonton Oilers meet Anaheim for the first time this season. We'll be updating the action from the game as it happens. We'll also be adding photos, videos from big plays and more throughout the game.

14:13: Just under six minutes into the period, shots on goal were 6-0 in favour of the Oilers as they carried the majority of the play early on.
11:51: The first penalty of the game went to Matt Beleskey for interference.
11:49: That man advantage was very shortlived as Jordan Eberle received two for interference only two seconds later.
10:08: Jeff Petry fed the puck over to Taylor Hall on the rush and Hall had the open side but just narrowly missed the net with his blast.
9:52: Anaheim's first shot of the game comes just past the 10-minute mark. Radek Dvorak's 40-footer finds its way on net. The shots at this point in the game are 9-1 for the Oilers.
4:10: Referee Tom Kowal slips on a stick behind the net and appears to injure himself as he falls awkwardly to the ice.
2:39: The Ducks get on the board first. Luca Sbisa fired a blast from the right point that was kicked out by Dubnyk but Dvorak was right there to pick up the rebound and backhand it in past a sprawled-out Oilers netminder. | ANA 1, EDM 0
2:01: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins gets two minutes for interference, giving the Ducks their first actual power play of the game as the first one was only two seconds.
43.4: After Oilers took a 9-0 lead in shots in the game, Anaheim takes its 12th shot and now leads the Oilers in that category 12-11.
0:00: Final shot count for the period is 15-11 for the Ducks. Ladislav Smid takes a roughing penalty at the buzzer.
20:00: Second period is now underway.
11:56: Taylor Hall feeds Jordan Eberle in the slot with a no-look pass from the end boards. Eberle just misses on his redirection attempt to keep the Oilers down by one.
11:45: Anaheim holds a 7-1 edge in shots through the first eight minutes of the second period.
10:35: Teemu Selanne is upended in the Oilers zone by Fistric, putting Anaheim back on the power play.

5:11: Hall fires a shot from close range that Hiller has to be sharp in turning away. It's only Edmonton's third shot of the period.
4:36: Eberle charges to the net and draws a hooking penalty in the process to Sbisa, giving Edmonton its first real power play of the night since the first one was only two seconds.
2:45: With time winding down in the man advantage, Nugent-Hopkins upends Andrew Cogliano behind the Ducks net and receives two minutes for tripping to give the Ducks their fifth power play of the night.
0:00: Shots on goal in the second period were 13 to 3 for the Ducks and 28 to 14 Anaheim overall in the game.

8:12: Andrew Cogliano takes a tripping penalty to give Edmonton the power play and a chance to get back on even terms with time winding down in the third period.
6:12: The Oilers generate some chances on the power play but are unable to convert.
29.7: Oilers call their 30-second timeout.
5.9: The Ducks ice the puck with very little time left on the clock. Anaheim calls its 30-second timeout.
