PRE-GAME NOTES

This game is the third and final meeting between the two clubs this year and with Red Wings leading the series, 2-0. The Oilers will be looking to redeem themselves after their 3-0 shutout loss against the Red Wings on Mar. 7. We'll be updating the action from the game as it happens. We'll also be adding photos, videos from big plays and more throughout the game.

Teemu Hartikainen is back in the lineup after sitting out the last game against Colorado for Ryan Jones, who is out due to illness.

14:13: Oilers get their first powerplay opportunity as Brendan Smith goes to the box for interference.

9:25: Oilers with a scoring chance as Corey Potter was at the top of the blue circle, shot the puck on net with Teemu Hartikainen in front for a redirect but was stopped by Jimmy Howard.

8:13: The Oilers go on the penalty kill as Ladislav Smid goes to the box for tripping.

3:33: The Oilers are back on the powerplay as Dan Cleary gets two minute for boarding.

0:00: After 20 minutes of play, the Oilers are leading 1-0. Shots on net are 10-5 for the Oilers.

FIRST PERIOD NOTES: Taylor Hall extends his points streak to five points in three games, while Ales Hemsky gets his fourth assist in just three games. Shawn Horcoff also extends his point streak as he gets his third point in three games after coming off the injured reserves. Hall's goal now ties him with Jordan Eberle and Nail Yakupov for third on the team with six.

18:53: Oilers with a chance as Magnus Paarjarvi cuts across in front but is stopped by Howard.

13:12: Devan Dubnyk with a huge save on Justin Abdelkader to perseve the Oilers lead.

11:33: Oilers get their third powerplay opportunity as Jakub Kindl goes to the box for slashing.

10:54: It's 4-on-4 on the ice now as Taylor Hall goes to the penalty box for high-sticking.

8:17: Jordan Tootoo and Mike Brown drop the gloves and fight. Tootoo and Brown both get a five-minute fighting major.
