20:00: Tonight's game is now underway.
15:41: The first real bonafide scoring chance in the game came to Nashville with Craig Smith stationed at the top of the crease. Smith redirected a pass on net and Dubnyk had to be sharp with a lightning-quick leg save to keep the game scoreless.
15:08: Nick Schultz takes a shot at a Predators skater in the neutral zone and gets a slashing penalty as a result, giving the Preds the game's first man advantage.
14:23: While shorthanded, Ryan Jones springs in behind the Predators defence and breaks in all alone. His deke attempt is stopped by Pekka Rinne.
13:53: 30 seconds later, Nashville opened the scoring. The puck took a weird hop off the end boards after a blast from the high slot by Mike Fisher. Colin Wilson chopped at it and the puck found its way onto the stick of Patric Hornqvist who was able to slip it past Dubnyk on a scrambled play. | NSH 1, EDM 0
13:51: Immediately after the goal, the puck dropped and so did the gloves of Mike Brown and Rich Clune. Neither combatant was able to knock the other down after a lengthy fight. Brown looked to have busted Clune open.
|Off the draw Mike Brown goes with Rich Clune...very spirited scrap. Brown has really made a good impression early on with the Oilers. @dantencer|
8:44: Shots on goal were 9-1 for the Predators just past the period's midway point.
1:09: Nashville increased its lead to 2-0 after David Legwand's wrist shot from centre ice bounced and eluded Dubnyk, hopping over his glove and into the back of the net. | NSH 2, EDM 0
0:00: Shots on goal after one period were 13 to 8 for the Predators.
20:00: The second period is now underway. Yann Danis is net for the Oilers.
19:09: Yann Danis started the second period in goal for the Oilers but the results were the same. Clune was perched in the crease. Danis stopped the initial shot but Clune hammered in the rebound to make it 3-0 Predators. | NSH 3, EDM 0
14:00: A penalty is called for holding on Theo Peckham. Right at the whistle, Paul Gaustad and Peckham get tangled in front of the net and fall to the ice as tempers erupt on both sides. Each player gets two for roughing and the result is Nashville's second power play of the game.
9:52: By the midway point of the period, the Oilers had narrowed the gap in shots on goal to 17-14, trailing Nashville by three shots.
9:37: Bobby Butler breaks in all alone on Danis but Ryan Whitney slides in and takes his legs out from under him. The result is the Predators' third man advantage of the evening.
|Ryan Whitney with the trip. Fans wanted penalty shot, not going to get it.
3:52: Danis makes a couple of nice stops off Wilson and Legwand.

0:00: Shots on goal after two periods are 21 to 18 for Nashville.
20:00: The third period is now underway.
15:17: Nashville increases its lead to 5-0 when Wilson jams the puck in after driving to the net from the corner. The puck slips in between the left pad of Danis and the post. | NSH 5, EDM 0
3:21: Colin Wilson rifles a shot from the left circle past Danis to extend Nashville's lead to 6-0. | NSH 6, EDM 0
