10:35: Chris VandeVelde gets sent to the box for holding, giving Phoenix the game's first power play.
7:34: Moments after that penalty expired, David Moss recieves a hooking penalty to give the Oilers their first man advantage of the day.
5:43: At the tail end of the power play, Lauri Korpikoski creates a turnover at the Oilers blueline and skates in all alone on Khabibulin. He elects to shot and the Edmonton goaltender makes the save.
5:04: Ben Eager heads to the penalty box for tripping.

FIRST PERIOD NOTES
Ryan Jones had 4:35 of icetime in the period, including 2:05 on the penalty kill. ... Antoine Vermette was 80% in the faceoff circle for the Coyotes. ... Nine different Coyotes registered one shot on goal.

SECOND PERIOD
20:00: The second period is now underway.
15:12: Eager and Jones skate in on a two-on-one. Eager feeds Jones whose initial shot is stopped by Mike Smith on an old school pad stack save. Smith was down and out and Jones fired the rebound into the open cage but Keith Yandle swooped in and batted the puck away with his hand.
| Mike Smith now over 120 minutes of shutout hockey. @ReidWilkins |

| Oilers using 2 bodies (Smyth, Hartikainen) in front of the net on the PP...it was fairly effective, actually. Couple good chances. @dantencer |

12:20: Oilers buzz around the Phoenix net with a couple of great chances as Yakupov is moved onto a line with Eberle and RNH.
