PRE-GAME NOTES
The Edmonton Oilers take on the Minnesota Wild for the first time this season and first time in 420 days overall. We'll be updating the action from the game as it happens. We'll also be adding photos, videos from big plays and more throughout the game.

FIRST PERIOD
20:00: The puck has dropped to start the opening period.
13:28: Through the first six minutes, the only two shots on goal were by Minnesota.
11:50: Theo Peckham, from the point, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, from the slot, have Edmonton's two best scoring chances of the game.
5:00: Oilers pick up momentum in the game, shots on goal are now 5-2 for Edmonton.

FIRST PERIOD NOTES
Minnesota had only one shot on goal in the final 14 minutes of the period.
SECOND PERIOD
20:00: The second period is now underway.
13:59: Hemsky and Yakupov skated in on a two-on-one. Yakupov threaded the puck over to Hemsky who didn't get as much on the puck as he wanted. Backstrom was able to slide across and make the stop.
13:38: Cal Clutterbuck blocks a shot and limps to the bench for treatment afterwards.
13:15: Ladislav Smid gets physical with Dany Heatley and receives two minutes as a result. Minnesota goes on the first power play of the game.
11:58: Heatley gets a goaltender interference penalty with Minnesota buzzing around the net on their man advantage.
7:34: Ryan Smyth picks up the puck behind the net and wraps it around and in for his second goal of the season, putting the Oilers on the board. | EDM 1, MIN 0

0:00: Oilers lose 3-1 to the Wild. Shots on net were even at 28.
