Open Practice Changes
Oilers make changes to accommodate more fans at open practices
The Edmonton Oilers today announced there will be changes to the open practices to better accommodate their fans.
The lower bowl, additional concessions and extra entrances will all be opened for the fans. Today about 2,000 people poured into Rexall Place to watch their team’s first official practice this season.
The unexpectedly large crowd overwhelmed services, resulting in long line-ups at concessions and people seating throughout a large area on the 2nd level. The Oilers thank all the fans who came out but also apologize to those who were inconvenienced.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the lower bowl will be open on the penalty box side of the arena. Fans will be able to access the arena from both the northside and southside entrances. Finally, there will be more concessions open so people won’t have to wait so long for their free popcorn and beverages.
There is no charge for parking on site.
The times remain the same for Tuesday and Wednesday:
The three practices are all at Rexall Place:
| Doors Open | Practice Start Time | |
| Tuesday, January 15 | 10 a.m. | 11 a.m. |
| Wednesday, January 16 | 10 a.m. | 11 a.m. |
