Edmonton, AB – The people behind the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation are grateful to be able to make the holiday season merrier for a number of Oil Country charities. Executive Director Natalie Minckler announced today more than $150,000 has been shared with the following organizations:

Christmas Bureau of Edmonton

Alberta Cancer Foundation

Mustard Seed

Vermillion Elementary School Lunch Program

Hope Air

Easter Seals

Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

Alberta Adaptabilities

Inner City Youth Development Association

Minckler says, “We take pride in being able to give back to the community but we must point out we could not do this without the help of our fans and supporters all across Oil Country. The people at the charitable organizations who receive these contributions tell us the money not only makes the holiday season brighter, it allows them to provide services to clients with year round.”

Today’s contributions bring the Foundation’s funding total to more than a quarter of a million dollars ($227,000) since July 1, 2012.

The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation is dedicated to changing lives in Oil Country through the support of charities that focus activities on education and health & wellness for youth. For more information about the Foundation’s initiatives, please visit

The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation cares deeply about our Community. Established in 2001, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) continues the Oilers legacy of giving back by contributing its unique resources and financial support to charitable organizations that serve the communities of Northern Alberta. With a focus on programs that support youth education and youth health wellness in Oil Country, the EOCF upholds the goal of helping to solve social issues while finding long-term solutions to improve the community where we all live, work, and play.

Led by a dedicated community Board of Directors, the EOCF has developed a number of programs and partnerships that target those who need it most.

The EOCF raises its funds through a variety of fundraising initiatives that take place during Oilers home games and the generous contributions of Oilers fans and friends.

The Foundation gives back in excess of $2.5 million annually to charitable organizations registered with Revenue Canada whose programs support education, health and wellness for youth throughout Oil Country.
