Oilers agree to terms with Eberle on contract extension
Eberle, 22, led the team in scoring last season with a career-high 76 points (34G, 42A), in just his second season in the National Hockey League. His 76 points earned him a spot in the 2012 NHL All-Star Game in Ottawa and helped him become a finalist for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy.
The 5’11, 184-pound Regina, Saskatchewan native finished 15th overall in points in the NHL as well as 15th overall in goals scored.
In his rookie campaign in 2010-11, he also led the club in scoring with 43 points (18G, 25A) in 69 games.
Eberle represented Team Canada at the 2009 and 2010 World Junior Hockey Championships and was named the tournament's Best Forward and Most Valuable Player in 2010. He also played in the 2010, 2011 and 2012 World Hockey Championships for Canada.
Eberle was Edmonton’s 1st round selection, 22nd overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
