Oilers Foundation Receives Drive One For Your Community Funding from FORD
Driving change seemed to be the theme of the day as FORD visited the Oilers organization to celebrate the “Drive One For Your Community” event’s success in a brand new 2013 Ford Escape Titanium. Edmonton FORD Dealers’ Jeff Stoddard presented the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation’s (EOCF) Executive Director, Natalie Minckler with the cheque.
With a community-first mentality, for every test drive during FORD’s ‘Drive One For Your Community’ event at this year’s Locker Room Sale, $20 was donated to the Oilers Foundation.
Thanks to Oil Country’s enthusiasm, the EOCF received over $4,000 from this Locker Room Sale initiative.
“We are proud to accept FORD’s donation and commend their community-focused initiative in helping to brighten the lives of those who need it most,” said Natalie Minckler, Executive Director of the EOCF. “Funds donated from the “Drive One For Your Community” event will go towards our funding of E4C’s School Snack Program.”
The snack program provides a nutritious mid-morning snack or breakfast each school day to students in high-needs elementary schools. The snacks ensure that active, young minds and bodies stay healthy. As a result, the students are better able to learn and focus during school.
FORD’s donation will help positively impact the community and enhance this important program in Oil Country.
“Our first “Drive One For Your Community” was very successful and on behalf of the Edmonton FORD Dealers, the proceeds we’re presenting today will be helping feed many children that are in need,” said Jeff Stoddard, Marketing Manager, FORD-Western Region. “We are really happy and proud to support the partnership with the Edmonton Oilers and E4C’s School Snack Program.”
