Oilers Open 2012-13 Season in Vancouver

Once again, this season’s schedule will see the Oilers play six games (three home and three away) against each of their Northwest Division opponents – the Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks, Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild – for a total of 24 games.
The Oilers will play four games against each of the remaining teams in the Western Conference, facing the Central Division and Pacific Division opponents twice at home and twice on the road for a total of 40 games.
Rounding out their 82-game schedule, the Oilers will also play 18 games against Eastern Conference opponents.
This year’s home schedule will again feature games against each of the Oilers’ three Eastern Canadian rivals: the Montreal Canadiens are in Edmonton on Thursday, November 1, the Ottawa Senators are in town on Thursday, December 6 and the Toronto Maple Leafs visit on Tuesday, December 18. December 26, Boxing Day, will see the Oilers host the Winnipeg Jets for the first time since their return to the league.
The Oilers will have one eight-game home stand this year. From March 15 – April 1, Edmonton will entertain Detroit, Nashville, Minnesota, St. Louis, Columbus, Colorado, Vancouver and Calgary. They also have one eight-game road swing from February 26 – March 12 with stops in Nashville, Carolina, Columbus, Minnesota, Detroit, New Jersey, New York Rangers and St. Louis. Edmonton plays in 11 back-to-back games this season as well as 10 afternoon games with three at Rexall Place.
