Barons advance to Conference Finals with 4-3 win
Barons beat the San Antonio Rampage 4-3 to advance to the Western Conference Finals against the Toronto Marlies
Ryan Keller scored two goals in the third period as the Barons beat the San Antonio Rampage 4-3 to advance to the Western Conference Finals against the Toronto Marlies starting on Thursday at 7 pm (CDT) at the Cox Center in Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma City won all three games in San Antonio and eliminated the Rampage 4 games to 1 by taking the final four after a series-opening home loss.
The Barons gained a 3-1 lead early in the third on Keller's first of the night before the Rampage came back with goals 22 seconds apart to tie the score.
Keller's power play goal, the team's third of the game in four chances, with 2:04 remaining propelled the Barons to victory in this second-round series.
The Barons scored the only goal of the first period on a power play, as Mark Arcobello put home a rebound with four seconds left off a point shot by Ryan Keller.
Oklahoma City has scored first in eight of nine games so far in the Calder Cup playoffs.
Bryan Rodney gave Oklahoma City a 2-0 lead on a second period power play at 9:26 on a shot from the point past a screened Jacob Markstrom.
After killing the Rampage's first two man advantages, the league's hottest power play in this season's playoffs got on the board with a goal at 18:06 by Michal Repik from the left wing circle past Yann Danis.
Keller's goal at 2:12 of the third gave Oklahoma City its second two-goal lead of the night before tallies by Scott Timmins and Mark Cullen tied the score 3-3.
Danis made 22 saves in improving to 7-2 in the playoffs. Markstrom fell to 4-4 despite 27 saves.
