Oilers agree to terms with Pelss
General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with left wing Kristians Pelss on a three-year entry level contract.
Pelss, 19, has played two seasons with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League. In 126 games, the 5'11", 187-pound Preili, Latvia native has 83 points (42G, 41A).
Pelss has also appeared in 14 post-season games with the Oil Kings recording four goals and five assists, including helping the team to the 2012 WHL Finals with four goals and three assists in 10 games.
Internationally, Pelss represented Team Latvia at the 2011 and 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships and the 2010 IIHF World U18 Hockey Championship.
The Oilers selected Pelss in the 7th round, 181st overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
