Keller added to AHL All-Star Classic

Oklahoma City Barons forward Ryan Keller was added to the Western Conference roster for the American Hockey League All Star Classic, the league’s front office announced today. The AHL All Star Classic is January 29 – 30 from historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.
Keller, 5-10, 196-pounder from Saskatoon, Sask. is in his first season with the Barons. He currently leads the team in scoring with 33 points and assists with 19. He spent the previous two seasons with the Binghamton Senators as team captain. Last season, he helped guide the Senators to the AHL’s Calder Cup.
This is his second appearance on an AHL All Star team. He was a member of the Canadian AHL All Star team for the 2010 AHL All Star Game. In that game, he scored twice to help lead the Canadian AHL All Stars to a 10-9 shootout win over PlanetUSA.
Keller will be joined on the Western Conference squad by four other members of the Barons team. Barons head coach Todd Nelson, goaltender Yann Danis, defenseman Alex Plante and forward Philippe Cornet were previously named to the squad.
The 2012 AHL All-Star Classic will feature the top young talent in the AHL competing in an internationally televised showcase. The game will be televised locally on FoxSports Southwest. Faceoff is 6 p.m. (ct) on January 30. The 2012 AHL All-Star Classic is presented by the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority, Caesars Entertainment, the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority and the American Hockey League.
