Oilers agree to terms with Potter on extension

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with defenceman Corey Potter on a two-year contract extension.
Potter, 28, is in his first year with the Oilers and has 14 points (3G, 11A) in 27 games.
The 6’3”, 206-pound Lansing, Michigan native was signed as a free agent this summer after spending last season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the American Hockey League where he collected 37 points (7G, 30A) in 75 games.
Potter was originally selected by the New York Rangers in the 4th round, 122nd overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He split four seasons with the Rangers in the NHL and their affiliate the Hartford Wolf Pack in the AHL before joining the Penguins organization for a season.
In 36 career NHL games he has 16 points (4G, 12A).
