The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Oilers and sends the team back on the road on a positive note.

All you need to know and more as we go Under the Scope:

With the Oilers already leading 4-1 late in the first period, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins would pick up the puck in the neutral zone and create a 2-on-1 with Jordan Eberle. Nugent-Hopkins would slip a pretty pass across to Eberle who would fire it top-shelf to finish the play.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins continued his impressive rookie season tonight with a five point performance. Nugent-Hopklins displayed the speed and soft hands that have made him a fan favorite as he collected his first five-point game in the NHL.

Lost in all the scoring by the Oilers young guns was the stellar play of Tom Gilbert. Gilbert would lead all Oilers in ice-time, playing 25:24. He would also finish the game with four points (1G, 3A), bringing him to 10 points on the season.

Ray Emery had never played the Edmonton Oilers in his career until tonight...he might wish he never did! Emery would be pulled midway through the first after allowing three goals on nine shots. He would return to the net to start the second period and allow seven goals overall in a 9-2 loss.

"If I held my breath everytime Hall goes flying into the net, i'd have brain problems"

-- Head Coach Tom Renney on Hall's attempt at a 10th Oiler goal in tonight's game.
