Oilers assign Plante
General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have assigned defenceman Alex Plante to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.

Plante, 22, was recalled yesterday and played with the Oilers collecting an assist in their 4-2 win over St. Louis. He has also played in eight games with the Barons this season recording an assist with 35 penalty minutes.
 
The 6’4”, 230-pound Brandon, MB native has appeared in eight NHL games with the Oilers the past two seasons collecting two assists and 13 PIM.
 
Plante was drafted by Edmonton in the 1st round, 15th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
