Oilers fans will also have the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind memorabilia in the Rally Against Cancer Online Auction which runs from October 24 through November 8. There are over 80 items up for grabs this year which include a complete set of Edmonton Oilers autographed, game worn vintage away jerseys from the October 18th Battle of Alberta game against Calgary. Other highlight items include a Nugent-Hopkins game-used stick, 2011-12 team signed jersey and a Wayne Gretzky autographed Edmonton Oilers replica jersey.
In addition to the Rally Against Cancer fundraiser, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and Oilers Ladies play an active role in the community year-round. Rally Against Cancer is the first of three fundraising activities supported by the ladies each year. This year’s Shirts Off Our Backs event takes place on December 19, 2011 and the annual Puck Surprise fundraiser will be held on March 16, 2012.
Since its inception in 2001, the Edmonton Oilers Community foundation has donated in excess of $14 million to charitable organization. Due to the generous support of Oilers Fans the EOCF is able to give back and change lives throughout Oil Country.
