WHAT IS OILERS FANTASY HOCKEY?

Oilers Fantasy Hockey is a free online game that allows you to play against other Edmonton Oilers fans as you attempt to earn the most points during each of the Edmonton Oilers' regular season and post-season hockey games.

The best part is that each game starts fresh; a clean slate so your past performances don't hinder your potential gains in the following week.

PRIZES

We will be awarding a Grand Prize of a Team-Signed Authentic Jersey to the fan with the highest points average at the end of the regular season (minimum 40 games played). We will also award an Oilers Prize Pack (including a team signed hockey stick, an official Oilers hat, and more!) for the fan with the most number of accumulated points at the end of the regular season.

Prizes, including 8x10 signed player cards, will also be awarded to the player with the most number of accumulated points each month, as well as to the player with the highest per-game average.

Wait, there’s more!

Because Oilers Fantasy Hockey is presented by Hudsons Canadian Tap House this season, there's more to scoop up. Every time the Oilers play, you can win Oilers tickets in the Molson Canadian Hockey House at Rexall Place, if you watch at any Edmonton-area Hudsons and your team wins.

HOW TO PLAY

You earn points in each game by selecting your "team" from members of the Edmonton Oilers roster. Oilers players earn points for you by scoring goals, getting assists, giving hits, etc. But you are limited in the number of players that you can choose by a salary cap. Players that typically earn more points will cost more to purchase for your team.

To start, players' salaries will be based on their CAP HIT. However, player salaries will go up and down over the season depending on if that player is hot or cold, or depending on a category’s importance in a certain head-to-head encounter.

TRACKING YOUR POINTS

During an Oilers hockey game, you can visit the LEADERBOARD page to see which fans are the current point leaders. You can also visit the PLAYER STATS page to see which Edmonton Oilers players have recorded stats in the hockey game so far, and who has earned the most points.

In addition, you can check out the SEASON LEADERS page to see who has the highest average points and most accumulated points over all the fantasy games played this season.

BONUS POINTS

In addition to earning points by playing in Oilers Fantasy Hockey rounds, you can also get bonus points to put towards your season point average and season point total. Note that bonus points do not apply to the monthly point leaders for highest average points or total points.

OILERS AWARDS

There are eight collector awards that you can earn by playing Oilers Fantasy Hockey. When you earn an award it will appear on the page that lists all the games that you have played in. Collect them all and then brag to your friends on just how good you are. Look at them like badges of honour.

WEEKLY UPDATES

In an effort to help you make your selections, we'll be providing weekly updates for all fans to consult, known as the FANTASY HOCKEY FORECAST. In realizing that making selections can sometimes be challenging and mentally strenuous, we'll be here to help you along.

We'll carefully breakdown the weekly matchups and provide you with the most comprehensive information that could help lead you to the Oilers Fantasy Hockey promise land.
