Oilers agree to terms with Chorney and O'Marra

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with defenceman Taylor Chorney and centre Ryan O'Marra on one-year deals.
Chorney, 24, has split each of the last three seasons between Edmonton and the Oilers' AHL affiliate. Last season in Oklahoma City, Chorney registered 22 points (3G, 13A) in 46 games. He had a goal and added 3 assists for 4 points in 12 games in Edmonton.
Chorney, who is from Hastings, Minnesota, has 7 points (1G, 6A) and 16 penalty minutes in 56 career NHL games. He was originally drafted in the 2nd round, 36th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Oilers.
O'Marra, 24, was acquired by the Oilers from the New York Islanders on February 27, 2007. He split last season between Oklahoma City and Edmonton with 22 points (2G, 20A) in 53 games for the AHL Barons in addition to 5 points (1G, 4A) in 21 games for the Oilers.
O'Marra, who was born in Tokyo, Japan, has played 24 games in his NHL career with 1 goal and 4 assists for 5 points and 13 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the New York Islanders in the 1st round, 15th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
