Oilers agree to terms with Belanger

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with centre Eric Belanger on a three-year contract.
Belanger, 33, spent last season with the Phoenix Coyotes appearing in all 82 games collecting 40 points (13G, 27A), which was a career high in points and games played.
The 6’0”, 185-pound Sherbrooke, QC native has also suited up for the Los Angeles Kings, Carolina Hurricanes, Atlanta Thrashers, Minnesota Wild and Washington Capitals. In 716 career NHL games he has 339 points (134G, 205A) and 319 penalty minutes.
Belanger, who was drafted in 1996 by the Los Angeles Kings, has also played in 41 career NHL playoff games with two goals and five assists.
