Currently the largest street hockey event in the country, Play On! Edmonton featured a hockey festival atmosphere, celebrity game and fun for fans of all ages.
The Oilers Event Team was onsite all weekend with Playstation video games and the infamous Oilers Fanboni while the Oilers logo was prominently displayed on all 49 rinks and throughout the tournament.
Special guests Keegan Lowe and Stephane Legault from the Edmonton Oil Kings took part in the Celebrity Game on Saturday and signed autographs for young fans after the game.
“We have created a great partnership with the Edmonton Oilers. The people of Northern Alberta love their hockey and love their Oilers,” said Vern Gernhardt, Event Director, Play On! Edmonton. “We appreciate the support that we have received from the Edmonton Oilers and their assistance in growing this event.”
Play On! is Canada’s official street hockey tournament and largest sports festival. For more information on CBC Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On! Edmonton visit http://www.playon.ca/events/edmonton and stay tuned for information on the 2012 Play On! tournament.
