Oilers Hockey Clinic Presented by Cenovus Energy Inc. Heads to Athabasca
|Oilers goaltender Devan Dubnyk signs autographs during last year's hockey clinic in Bonnyville, Alberta.
“Helping to grow grassroots hockey across Oil Country continues to be a priority for us and we’re thrilled Cenovus Energy continues to sponsor our fun, educational and interactive hockey clinics for young hockey players in a growing community like Athabasca,” said Patrick LaForge, Oilers President and COO.
The Edmonton Oilers Hockey Clinic will feature four on-ice sessions, off-ice training techniques and team building exercises. Oilers Grassroots Staff, Hockey Alberta and Hockey Canada will be on site to ensure the students have a great learning experience while having fun.
“This will be a great event for the Athabasca area and I know there are a lot of folks looking forward to it,’’ said David Goldie, Vice President, Greater Pelican Assets. “This hockey clinic is one of the many ways that we give back to the communities where we live and work.’’
All players that are interested in participating, male or female, aged nine to 12 are invited to register at edmontonoilers.com/cenovus/hockeyclinic by 5:00 p.m. MDT on Monday, April 18, 2011. The lucky participants will be randomly drawn from all of the entries.
A community event will be held at the Athabasca Regional Multiplex parking lot on May 13, 2011 to kick off the weekend and all community members are invited to attend.
Cenovus Energy concentrates on three main areas for its community investment programs – learning, safety and well-being and sustainable communities. The company’s involvement in these three areas reflects Cenovus’s values and the positive impact it wants to help generate in the communities it’s connected with.
Edmonton Oilers Hockey is presented in part by the Rexall Family of Pharmacies, Molson Canadian, ATB Financial, TELUS, Cenovus Energy and Ford.
