Oilers recall trio
Forwards Chris Vande Velde, Ryan O'Marra & Alex Giroux recalled from Barons

O’Marra, 23, has played 53 games this year with the Barons recording 22 points (2G, 20A) and 49 penalty minutes. The 6’2”, 193-pound centre, who is born in Tokyo, Japan, was recalled earlier this year by Edmonton appearing in nine games scoring a goal and adding two assists.
O’Marra, a former 1st round pick by the New York Islanders, has played in 12 career NHL games collecting a goal and three assists.
Vande Velde, 24, has 16 points (12G, 4A) and 45 penalty minutes in 67 games this season with the Barons.
The 6’2”, 204-pound Moorhead, Minnesota native is expected to play in his first NHL game since being drafted by the Oilers in the 4th round, 97th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Giroux, 29, was originally recalled by Edmonton earlier this month and posted a goal and an assist in five games before being reassigned on March 14.
The 6’3”, 200-pound Quebec City, PQ native leads the Barons with 67 points (29G, 38A) in 63 games, which puts him 2nd in the AHL in points.
In 36 career NHL games, Giroux has 11 points (5G,6A) and 16 penalty minutes.
